International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB)

Bashundhara Group proudly introduced the largest event space for the first time in Bangladesh named International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in order to adjoin the flexibility in organizing personal, social and internationally standard festivals as well as to develop this service industry to an international height. This mega project begins its activation from January 01, 2015. Let’s welcome you to the city where 21st century technology meets a thousand years of history, where centuries -old folk tunes live side-by-side with up-to-the-minute wired culture. And that’s the focal magnetism of our beloved motherland, where thousands-year-old tradition wears all the contemporary attires! And that’s the motto of International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).

A little away from the hullabaloo of the city, this convention city boasts fully equipped 7 Lac sq. ft. it has the capacity of accommodating more than 20,000 guests at a time. Besides widest parking facility, end-to-end vigilance, five customized halls, well-groomed staffers and a gamut of international standard amenities make it a place to opt for. ICCB is uniquely designed for Large Fair & Expo, Events, Fashion Show, Conference, Corporate Seminar, Exhibitions, Launch Ceremony, Award Reception, Film/ Drama Shooting, Convocation, Wedding - and what not? And this doesn’t end there! Small-scale programs like Mehendi, Birthday, Anniversary, Engagement, Annual Get-Together or any other family programs or congregations are also a perfect fit for the spaces available here. We believe, this mega initiative will be a successive paradigm of service in South Asia.

Rules

The competition involves university teams of three students having completed no more than 8 semesters of STEM-related, full-time university study. Each team is provided with a computer, ten or more highly complex problems and five hours to solve them.

Every contest problem is presented in a real-life scenario. ICPC World Finals problem sets have contained problems to optimize subway schedules, model air traffic control, analyze logic circuits, optimize fence placement, track robot movements, map race courses, simulate airport luggage collection, estimate oil reserves, and so on.

After reading the scenario, participants should accurately identify the main existing problem and develop algorithms to solve it. Each incorrect solution submitted is assessed a time penalty. Teams are ranked according to the most problems solved and the least total time spent.

This format of the contest is considered to be one of the most challenging: the participants are required not only to solve the problems correctly and know the algorithms perfectly but also to distribute the roles in the team competently.

ICPC World Finals supports only four languages, C/C++, Kotlin, Java and Python.

My ICPC

Qualification for the World Finals consists of several steps. All universities from across the world are assigned to a region. The most successful teams from regional contests go to the Finals. However, getting to the regionals may also require competing in one or more sub-regional contests.

Universities often hold local ICPC-like competitions to choose teams that will represent them in sub-regional and regional contests. Every year for each region, the number of teams that will enter the Finals is determined. This number depends on the number of participating teams, the results of previous Finals and other factors.

In a regional contest, one university may be represented by several teams, but only one team from each university may enter the World Finals. No team member on the qualifying team may have competed as a contestant in two previous World Finals.

ICPC Challenge

The ICPC Challenge gives programming teams and their coaches a chance to work on a different kind of problem. Working with their coach, teams implement a player and compete against other teams' players in a new game called ICPC Bumper Boat Rally. Preliminary matches during the two-week coding phase helped teams to develop and refine their players. Now, we're preparing for the final tournament.

We're preparing for a final tournament in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We will use the following, double-elimination tournament tree. It's based on the preliminary standings from the end of the coding phase. Sorry some of the names are long here. We'll get a list of short institution names before we run the tournament.

International Collegiate Programming Contest

The International Collegiate Programming Contest is an algorithmic programming contest for college students. Teams of three, representing their university, work to solve the most real-world problems, fostering collaboration, creativity, innovation, and the ability to perform under pressure. Through training and competition, teams challenge each other to raise the bar on the possible. Quite simply, it is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious programming contest in the world.
